Another favorite of mine that dates back to elementary school. As a young girl who often dreamed of sailing the seven seas (but on a pirate ship, of course), I deeply enjoyed living vicariously through Charlotte Doyle, page by page.
One of my favorites, dating all the way back to elementary school. Though it’s the second book in a series, it easily stands on its own as a haunting and memorable adventure story, perfect for reading on the beach and wondering what lies beneath the waves….
A fun little adventure story, reminiscent of a classic zero to hero character arc. A bit on the younger side as far as the writing goes, but one that was more enjoyable for me personally the second time around.
A high fantasy story with a rich mythos, intriguing character dynamics, and vivid settings. A new favorite that has me greatly looking forward to the sequels!
A book from an author whose stories were more my style when I was younger. As an adult, I am too distracted by the aspects of it that don’t live up to my expectations. In the long run, this is a book that is probably more fitting for a younger reader.
